The Eclectics: Samantha S.

|| Age: 22 || Blog: Fashion: The Life, The Myth... || Twitter: @FashionLML

Who are your top 5 artists and why?
This is tough! Jamie T - He makes you laugh, but also makes you think. If you want to know what I mean just watch and listen to "If You Got The Money" on Youtube. You will understand. Hot Hot Heat - They have catchy beats and the lead singer Steve Bays has a voice so distinctive you know it is Hot Hot Heat when you hear him. The Higher - I randomly heard one of there songs on Fuse one day and since then I have been hooked. I have seen them in concert at least three times and every time they are amazing! They mix r&b with rock and they do it well. The Maine - Again I am a sucker for catchy somewhat pop rock...but when I heard the song "Into Your Arms" I fell...hard!! Cute Is What We Aim For - I have loved them from the start...I believe they were my first emo band. They were the ones who made me realize that rock could have a pop side that was not just cheap choruses and fake instruments. Their songs have always inspired me...whether it was good or bad inspiration is up to you.

How would you describe your taste in music?
I would describe it like this blog, eclectic. I could honestly listen to everything and find some portion of it that I like. I am not the hugest fan of rap...in fact it is not even on my radar of music...but lately I have been finding some rappers that have begun to change my mind on the art.

What are you listening to at the current moment?
Embarrassing as it is... Big Time Rush. For some reason I could listen to their songs all day and have no shame they were formed by Nickelodeon. Some songs are rather cheesy while others are really good. "Counting On You" is a duet with Jordan sparks...super cute

What was your most memorable concert/show experience?
I would have to say my first time seeing The Higher. It was their first time coming to the East Coast and it was in a small bar in Manhattan. I had some how convinced my mom to let me go (I was 16 and going alone) so she decided she would tag along. I was right in front of the stage and she sat in the back near the bar. The first band came on. The guitarist hit me in the head with his guitar. When the song ended he rubbed my head and said "sorry hope you're ok". OF COURSE I WAS!! The next band came out and the bassist put his head on my shoulder and continued to play. I didnt know the band's music enough to sing it so I was kind of just jumping up and down then I realized he had just used me as a human sweat towel. When that band got off the stage the lead singer stood right next to me and tried to hit on me for a good half hour! I was sixteen and he was probably mid to late twenties! Then THE Higher came on! I died! They were amazing and the guitarist who was standing in front of me told me he liked my shirt...I don't know what all these guys liked about this shirt but it most definitely made that the best concert ever!

If your life had a soundtrack what would be the opening theme?
You just want me to sound like a dork don't you haha. I would have to say that my opening theme would be the theme song from Golden Girls. "Thank You For Being A Friend" haha. It has a good meaning and to be honest friends are the most important people to me. They are simply my extended family.
