Who are your top 5 artists and why?
This is a tough one...hmm. I love so many artist for so many different reasons

Adele- She is flawless. When I listen to her records I feel like I’m just “girl-talking” with a friend. While I haven’t had any great love losses in my life, there is something in her voice and her lyrics that I think everyone can relate to.

Gavin DeGraw- He is an artist that I don’t think gets much respect in the industry, but he is certainly a favorite of mine. He has such a warm and soulful voice. Great songs to belt out in the car/shower or any other venue of choice lol

Mumford & Sons- They just kick ass. No explanation needed.

Bob Marley- Love his voice, love his message, love the fact that he stood for something and spoke/continues to speak to generation after generation through his music.

Young The Giant- Sick band. They performed on the MTV VMA’s this year and killed it! The lead singer Sameer is phenomenal, and they have such a fantastic style and vibe. YouTube them and watch the Open Session videos, you’ll understand.

How would you describe your taste in music?
I listen to any and everything. My taste is all over the map. I’ve got some Sweedish hip-hop on my iPod and some Jesse McCartney songs too. Anyone is welcome on my iPod. I would say though that my favorite genre is singer/songwriter. That’s where the real talent lies I think. I love harmonies and truthful lyrics.

What are you listening to at the current moment?
Currently I’m bouncing between the new Mutemath record Odd Soul, J. Cole, Old school Yellowcard, Maroon 5, and the Pistol Annies.

What was your most memorable concert/show experience?
Another tough one, M.I.A.’s show was pretty unforgettable. The energy was so tangible in the room; everyone was feeding and thriving off one another. I felt like I worked out/got my ass kicked and I loved every minute of it. Adele’s show was another great one. It was so good I cried when it was over (embarrassing to be standing on a Philadelphia street corner waiting for the bus on the phone with your mom just sobbing, but music moves me, I can’t help it) She is just so amazing, I feel really lucky that I had the opportunity to see her play in such a small venue. Especially now that she is experiencing a lot of health issues with her throat/vocal chords. Get well soon Adele!

If your life had a soundtrack what would be the opening theme?
“The Beautiful Letdown” by Switchfoot. I adore this song, it speaks to me in so many ways and for so many reasons. It seems a bit melancholy maybe, but I’m simply in love with it. I’m even thinking about getting a line from the song as my second tattoo one of these days.
