Who are your top 5 artists and why?
So this is a hard one and I dont think I could truely narrow down a list to my absolute TOP 5 artist because I like different artist for different things, at different times just like anyone else. But 5 artist in no particular order that come to mind that I really enjoy and constantly listen to are Kanye West because I truely feel like he changed the rap game despite what anyone says and I like the fact that he delivers his lyrics with a sense of urgency and compassion with each and every song. Next would be M.I.A because I think shes fun and her music and style is so innovative and original which is really refreshing. Then there is Crystal Castles which I enjoy because their is something very powerful, eerie and unsetteling about their music that really draws me in and makes me wonder. I also like Erykah Badu because of her very soothing and melodic voice and the fact that she is a very strong and intellectual black woman. And last but not least Michael Jackson because his music is truely for everyone and speaks volumes to both the older and younger generations.

How would you describe your taste in music?
The only way I could describe my taste in music would be "random" because I listen to just about EVERYTHING. I dont want to miss out on anything so I expose myself to it all. I am one of those people who when first listening to a song pays more attention to how the song makes me feel rather than the lyrics. I just like to delve into the music and if it can evoke a certain mood or emotion out of me that inspires me or brings me back to a certain point in my life then Im sold.

What are you listening to at the current moment?
Right now I am listening to Purity Ring "Lofticries".

What was your most memorable concert/show experience?
So I am kind of ashamed of myself because I have not been to a whole lot of concerts/shows throughout my life but I will say I was able to see Mos Def at a music festival last year and it was an experience that I will never forget. I just felt like I was witnessing true hip hop at its most natural state if that makes any sense. Being in Brooklyn outside on a warm summers night in the park surrounded by a bunch of hipsters and having someone like Mos Def perform who is also originally from Brooklyn I just felt some sort of connection in the air that just made me feel as if "this is the real deal".

If your life had a soundtrack what would be the opening theme?
I would say it would be Local Natives "Wide Eyes"
