Rotation Station: # { 1 }

So I just joined this pretty nifty website titled This Is My Jam. While browsing around I was inspired to start a little something something. I introduce you to the first installment of "Rotation Station". Here I'll update you on the top 5 songs that I just can't get enough of. I'll more than likely swap this with the Song of The Week spot because they are basically the same thing, just with an extra four songs. No need to be repetitive, right?

 Passion Pit  - Constant Conversations
There once was a time when I was overly obsessed with Passion Pit and secretly in love with Michael Angelakos. Although some may beg to differ, Michael's unique high pitched voice was like music to my ears. I'm sure I annoyed the hell out of a lot of friends that one summer when I played the crap out of Manners. Haha, good times. "Constant Conversations" is my favorite track from PP's new album Gossamer. Its full of lovely light-hearted falsettos and I like the R&B'esque vibe that its giving off.

 Frank Ocean  - Sierra Leone
Oh Frank. My dear dear Frank. Channel Orange has been on the heaviest of rotations ever since its release. I've played it from front to back, back to front, left and right, and even skipped around a bit. Its hard to narrow down your favorite track when you love an album so much but "Sierra Leone" is beautiful in its quest to enlighten us on the trials and tribulations of young parenthood.  Poetic lyrics like "horses gallop to her throne" and "her pink skies will keep me warm" give a glimpse into the imaginative world of Frank Ocean.

 SBTRKT  - Gloss
Holy moly, I have officially entered the fantasmical world of Euphoria. "Gloss" is a delightful summer jam guided by island beats with a chill mode type of atmosphere.  SBTRKT has been dropping songs left and right and this one is just as great as the rest. He's been working on some new material for a future release and boy am I excited for that.

 Nikko Gray  - Water On The Moon
When I listen to this song I feel my spirit transcend through the clouds and into the outer world.  Nikko's lyrics have a descriptive way of analyzing the journey into the unknown perfectly. Even when we're gone, somethings carrying along.  I'll be here, even when I disappear. Heaven in you.

 Oddisee  - American Greed
Mark my words -- Oddisee is going to be the next big thing.  "American Greed" is an amazing song and I love how he's able to express his opinions on the current state of America's unrequited lust with money in a consciously poignant manner.
