While listening to Pitchfork's Best New Tracks playlist on Spotify I came across this wonderful UK duo by the name of AlunaGeorge. The Londontowners Aluna Francis (vocals) and George Reid (music) have a way of fusing together garage, r&b, and hip-hop to create something alluring to the ear. I truly admire Aluna's voice. It's like Lykke Li meets Yukimi Nagano (Little Dragon) or as I like to call it, the best of both worlds. George and Aluna initially met on the internet but collaborated musically when George decided to remix a song featuring Aluna's vocals. The record gained a lot of popularity so the two felt that it would be a great idea to join forces and make music as a team. Flying Lotus, Aaliyah, Chris Clark, and Hudson Mohawke are just a few artists that have inspired the duo.
